How to successfully contribute to an educational blog
+ Blog post: The blog post reflects 1) thoughtful meditations on that week’s assignment and 2) demonstrates considerable effort to engage with the assignment by drawing upon that week’s readings to make and prove a point. Focus on a single idea provoked by the reading; identify it and its relevance. Superior blog entries are focused around a specific idea and demonstrate a real engagement with the subject of discussion. Think of your blog post as a place to practice articulating thesis statements and developing arguments. Your blog posts should not only articulate a response, idea, argument, but also make an attempt to explain or prove why you think the way you do. That means, strong blog posts are also detailed and reflective in their use of the texts that prompt them (i.e. they include quotes or commentary on specific points made in the reading) + Comment: All comments provided to classmates should be thoughtful, constructive, and respectful. They should help build and foster the writer’s ideas. A superior comment demonstrates a willingness (pray, an eagerness!) to learn, share, and assist.
